1966 SUNBEAM ALPINE (HOLBAY H120) with OVERDRIVE

This very nice Sunbeam Alpine had a complete body off respray and restoration by the previous owner to which I then fitted a holbay engine for a few extra HP and that wonderful sound that the Weber DCOE carburettors make. The engine was reamed with new rings bearings and clutch etc. along with a stainless steel exhaust. Also fitted is a large oil cooler with Kenlow fan. Whilst it was originally classed as a GT it only comes with the soft top and no hard top is included however this does allow more room behind the seats.. The interior benefits from reupholstered front seats  and new matching carpets and inertia seat belts. The car has chrome wire wheels fitted with 5 new tyres and new bumpers/over riders. The car has also  been rewired with an updated fuse box and electric brake servo vacuum system.

The gearbox gives a smooth change with overdrive in 3rd and 4th, the engine doesn't smoke or use oil and is an excellent starter even on cold damp days.

The car is registered as a Historic vehicle with no tax payable and I think there is no MOT required ( not sure about this so check) however I always MOT my cars just for peace of mind. The current MOT expires 26/09/2026. The stated mileage is not correct as I have fitter a replacement speedo. There are plenty of spares including a 1725 engine with the car if required.

With summer coming what better way to enjoy open top motoring than in a Alpine with the top down.

1963 Sunbeam Alpine Series 3 Roadster. Automatic. Reg.4711 ET. I have owned this car since 1997. Always garaged. 4697 miles recorded at purchase and now showing 9024. Full major restoration around 2012 including any new panels required, full strip and repaint, new chrome as necessary, new fully rebuilt engine block including toughened valve seats, original twin Zenith carbs stripped and rebuilt with all new seals, seats and door cards recovered in black leather including all new seat pads, wire wheels powder coated, stainless exhaust system, etc. Lots of documentary evidence in a thick file. Since then I have fitted a new hood which has been up once (to make sure it works!), a wind deflector, new starter, new battery, anti roll bushes. Comes complete with tonneau cover, owners handbook, garage service chart, various spares including spare windscreen. This is a car that has no panel rot and starts and drives well. Little used in recent years although I did give it a full oil change, including filter, last summer. It will be difficult to part with but I am afraid the time has come and it needs to be on the road. The only issue with it at the moment is that the brake master cylinder requires overhauling. £10000 ono
